Maternity visiting hours are 3 pm to 8 pm daily. Partners or a designated support person can visit at any time. Siblings are welcome during visiting hours, but other children can't visit the maternity ward. Cabrini asks for two or three visitors at a time.
Parking
The multi-level visitor car park is reached via Coonil Crescent, off Wattletree Road, and is open 6 am to 8 pm. The first 20 minutes are free, then fees start at $14 for up to an hour, capped at $27 a day. Short drop-off bays sit right outside the main entrance.
Public transport
Tram route 5 stops right at the hospital (Stop 47, Cabrini Hospital) on Wattletree Road. By train, Malvern station on Glenferrie Road is a 10–15 minute walk, on the Pakenham, Cranbourne and Frankston lines.

Cabrini's maternity unit has 24 private rooms across Maternity West and Maternity South, with birth suites and a special care nursery close by. Care is obstetrician-led and supported by midwives, lactation consultants and a 24-hour emergency department, and partners are welcome to stay.
Special care nursery
Cabrini Malvern has a special care nursery for newborns who need extra support after birth, located within the maternity unit. When sending a gift for a family with a baby in the nursery, include the patient's full name and note "Special care nursery" in your order.
Length of stay
