Public patients stay on the Monash Medical Centre maternity wards. Private patients stay at Jessie McPherson Private Hospital, Monash Health's private hospital at the front of the same site. Tell us which one mum is in so our driver goes straight to the right ward.
Visiting hours
Visiting hours across Monash Health are generally 8 am to 8 pm. In maternity, quiet time runs from 2 pm to 4 pm daily, when only the primary support person can visit.
Parking
Paid visitor parking is in the multi-level car park on the left as you enter the site from Clayton Road, open 24 hours. Concession rates are available with a pension, health care or DVA Gold card. Street parking nearby is limited and mostly restricted to one or two hours.
Public transport
Clayton station on the Pakenham and Cranbourne lines is about a five-minute walk along Clayton Road. Bus routes 631, 703 and 733 stop right outside the main entrance.
Jessie McPherson maternity
Jessie McPherson mums give birth in the Monash Medical Centre birthing suites, on the same level as the Jessie McPherson postnatal ward. Some families spend part of their stay at the Parenting Sanctuary at Hotel Chadstone — let us know and we'll deliver there.
NICU & Special Care Nursery
Monash Newborn's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is in Monash Children's Hospital on the same site, linked by walkway to the Jessie McPherson ward. Jessie McPherson also has its own Special Care Nursery on the maternity ward.
